VSR Donates High-End Gaming Table to Local Community Center

The table had been made as the foundation for a series of cutting-edge poker tables that VSR Industries was developing for a client. To his surprise, Mark was told that this unit had been scheduled for disposal. This was upsetting to Mark since he had seen the table as it was being constructed and thought that it would be perfect for one of his favorite hobbies – Dungeons and Dragons.

Since it was scheduled to be disposed of, Mark asked the Wood Shop Director William Shellaugh if he might have it and was told yes! Sadly, he soon realized that there was not enough space at his house for this amazing table and promptly put his daydreams aside.
That same evening, Mark and his wife went to their local community center, the newly built Silverado Ranch Community Center, to inquire about the walking track. Mark looked around and was impressed by the size of the rooms and the wide range of scheduled activities available there. Then a light went off in his head.

He found the nearest manager and asked if they had Dungeons and Dragons games there. The manager, Melanie Hammond, lit up when she heard Mark’s question. “We don’t have any games, but we’ve had so many inquiries. We just don’t have anyone to run games for the kids or teach folks how to play”. That was all Mark needed to hear. You see, Mark has been a game master, or what’s known as a Dungeon Master, since 2018 and a player for several years more than that. Mark asked Melanie if they would be interested in not only having him come and teach D&D but if they would also accept a donation of a custom-made D&D table from his company.

Needless to say, they were very happy to hear more about Mark’s idea, and the more they heard the more excited they became. Soon Melanie got her Director Michelle Chamberlain involved and things started happening. Mark went back to his company and sought formal approval from his direct supervisor, Sales Director Jon Fryar, for the donation. Mr. Fryar swiftly approved the donation, and Mark’s vision took one more step towards becoming reality.

The next step was to get final approval from the Clark County Commission, who approved it during their meeting on January 21st, 2025.

VSR made sure that the table met their high production standards and added wood laminates, beveled edges, and several finishing touches to ensure that this piece would last the center for a long time. VSR’s IT Director Scott Baalman even donated a TV monitor for displaying digital maps.
